About Alison

Alison Dutton is the principal of Labour Pains Legal. Alison made the decision to start her own legal practice after spending a significant period of time specialising in employment law and working in mid-tier firms including at Turner Freeman and Sparke Helmore Lawyers.

During this time, Alison acquired extensive experience in all facets of employment and workplace safety law and made the decision to specialise in providing assistance and advice to employees. Alison fights hard to ensure her clients are treated fairly and that engaging her legal services is affordable and accessible to all.

Alison's passion for employment law has evolved from her background in human rights and gender studies. Alison completed her high school education in India before graduating with a Bachelor of Arts majoring in gender studies from the University of Sydney and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of New South Wales. Her particular interests include sex discrimination and ensuring women are not disadvantaged due to taking parental leave and negotiating flexible working arrangements with their employers.

"I enjoy working closely with my clients and providing both legal assistance as well as emotional support. Making the decision to commence legal proceedings against an employer can be difficult and I understand that often my clients require more than just legal advice.

I fight hard for my clients and thoroughly enjoy my work. Give me a call today to discuss how I can help you overcome a difficult situation at work"
